Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Theme: Seven Virtues - No. 4 Fortitude
Notes: Finally. I am -so- sorry they're so late. x.x
They stand in kata for hours. After half an hour, Obi-Wan’s arm is tiring where it is holding his lightsaber unlit above his head. After an hour, he can’t feel it. There is no blood in that arm; and it’s starving of oxygen; drooping, so that Obi-Wan had to physically use the Force to keep it in place. After an hour and a half, he lets it drop suddenly – and Qui-Gon doesn’t move as Obi-Wan howls in pain as the pins and needles rush through his arm with fresh blood.
Three hours later, when the exercise is complete, Qui-Gon relaxes. He takes his arms into his hands and rubs hard, bringing the muscles back to life. Obi-Wan had been sitting at his Master’s feet the whole time, waiting for him to finish. With every passing moment he has been all the more surprised by Qui-Gon’s endurance. He is daydreaming by the time that Qui-Gon has stirred; and the older Jedi kneels down and touches his fingers to Obi-Wan’s jaw to wake him.
Obi-Wan started with fright lifting his own hand up to the back of Qui-Gon’s hand; trapping it. “Master,” he breathes, looking up into Qui-Gon’s green eyes, the same eyes he’s been seeing in his dreaming. Obi-Wan leans up without preamble or thought; he closes his lips over Qui-Gon’s and kisses him softly and lovingly. Such is Qui-Gon’s immense surprise that he does not react immediately. This isn’t a battle; there are no guns going off. It is not a diplomatic incident. He is baffled; unsure how to handle this development.
Before he can respond one way or another, Obi-Wan has drawn back. There is such fright in those blue eyes that Qui-Gon lets him go without saying a word; and it is not mentioned ever afterwards.
