Stage #1 - Attraction

Stage 1. ATTRACTION - a positive response to a person beyond friendship. This can further be broken down into two areas: (a) physical attraction & (b) emotional attraction.

a. Physical Attraction - happens when your body reacts to another person. Heart rate increases; temperature rises, palms get sweaty; stomach flutters; throat tightens; etc. This is the most Superficial of "loves" on one level, but one of the most powerful on another. It represents the first contact.

b. Emotional Attraction - develops next if the circumstances are right. After being drawn to a person physically, you then begin to converse. If you find you have things in common -- hobbies, ideologies, career, education, or some other common ground -- then an emotional attraction starts to form. An emotional attraction can also occur even when a physical attraction does not. And in this case, the bond may even be stronger between the two who connect, since no preconceived notions based on physical appearance has occurred.

Make it work! Bend it, twist it, whatever you need to do, until it works for you. You'll have until 11:59 PM EST Tuesday, February 7, to post your reply to the first stage.

TITLE: Something Like the Sun
AUTHOR: Jenn Abiding
THEME: Attraction
RATING: G
NOTES: 100 words. Simultaneous with this.

The afternoon was warm on his face when he awakened, and so the mountain man let himself linger on the grass, his eyes fully lidded so as to feel the sun without being blinded.

When at last he came out of his basking, his eyes opened on something warmer and brighter than the sun.

The strange gaze did not blind him, but it did mesmerize him so that when the boy turned from him and scampered back to the lake, the mountain man did not notice the boy's tail until it slapped against the surface just before he dove beneath.

Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon "Batman" Week One - Attraction.

You know what I really should've realised BEFORE I signed up to "Stages of Love"?

I really can't write romance... especially not when its constrained to themes.

Well, here goes.

Title: Pink Laces.
Author: scarab_dynasty
Theme: #1- Attraction
Rating: Good for all.
Pairing: Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon
Fandom: DC Comics
Word Count: 431 (damn… pushing it, aren’t I?)
Disclaimer: Not my characters. I just enjoy torturing playing with them.
Summary: “It’s times like this that Dick starts to question the subtlety of the green pants…”
Notes: Set at the end of Robin: Year One, the scene in question having been firmly burned into my brain for weeks. Not the strongest of the fics… I THINK it gets attraction across… this one is REALLY pushing the idea of a drabble. NB: I’m hoping that the five weeks of fics will be at last vaguely connected.

Title: Sometimes.
Rating: PG?
Word Count: 490… okay, next time I PROMISE, no pushing the word limit.
Summary: If he hadn’t been who he was, when he came in through the window, she swears the ripped-out keyboard would’ve hit him square in the face. Being who he is, he blocks it.”>
Notes: Set post “The Hunt for Oracle,” Nightwing.

Title: Laughter.
Rating: all ages.
Word Count: 247
Summary: He only breathed in a little of the gas. Which is just as well.
Notes: I’m trying, I really am… I never realsied that drabbles disagreed with me so much =S. This is honestly as close as I could get. Set pre-“The Killing Joke”.
